Vascular surgeons are often faced with Type II endoleaks in patients having undergone endovascular aneurysm repair, and the optimal treatment and prevention of this common problem is uncertain. Different vascular surgeons manage Type II endoleaks differently. Furthermore, some of these common endoleaks might be prevented by embolization or other measures at the time of initial aneurysm repair, but indications to prophylactically treat lumbar vessels or the inferior mesenteric artery are uncertain.
